Coronavirus (COVID-19) vaccine

COVID-19 vaccine gold standard

The NHS is currently offering the COVID-19 vaccine to people most at risk from coronavirus.

The order in which people will be offered the vaccine is based on advice from the Joint Committee on Vaccination and Immunisation (JCVI).

The NHS will let you know when it’s your turn to have the vaccine. Those aged 70+ can call the practice to book an appointment for the COVID-19 vaccination. You will then be transferred to our dedicated booking team.

You can read more about the COVID-19 vaccine on the nhs.uk website.

Knowsley News have also provided detailed info on your COVID-19 vaccination questions which we urge you to read here.

NHS England/ Improvement proposed there be ‘Primary Care vaccination sites’ across England to be led and staffed by local GP practices. The 3 vaccination sites identified for the borough of Knowsley are the following; Please click the  links below to open up Google Maps locations.

All sites are now fully operational. All those eligible for the vaccine will be invited to receive their vaccination at a pre-booked appointment; there will be no drop in at either hospital or primary care sites. Appointments are limited and are released on a weekly basis.

Patients aged 50+ and those who are ages 18-65 who are clinically extremely vulnerable are now being invited to receive their first vaccination. We are also starting to invite patients for their second vaccination depending upon when the first vaccine was administered. We will contact you either by letter, telephone or SMS with details of how to book an appointment.

We have now administered all housebound patients first vaccination and will be in touch with patients to arrange a second vaccination in the near future.

We are visiting care homes to undertake second vaccinations starting from 24th March and will be running this programme until 16th April.

As we find ourselves in this fast-moving situation, we ask for patience from our patients as we work through inviting each at risk cohort to receive the vaccination.
